On stage evolution at Tomorrows World Live 2001
01.08.2001
Promus Event Management, the company behind the design, build and running of the Music World stage at BBC Tomorrow’s World Live 2001 at London’s Earls Court 2, exclusively used Sennheiser evolution radio mics for live performances.

The Engineering Council sponsored stage featured innovations in engineering and science, so naturally Sennheiser provided state-of-the-art radio technology - five evolution wireless 100 Series mics and rack-mount receivers were used for live performances featuring pop-rock outfit Manna.

Promus MD Chris Simpson explains their choice of equipment: ”As an international exhibition and conference company, we need reliable, robust and good sounding equipment. The Sennheiser evolution wireless system exceeds all our expectations, and at a very reasonable price. The new range is another good reason to stick with a company we’ve come to trust over many years.”

Designed to demonstrate to a predominantly young audience that sound engineering is an exciting and viable career option, the show featured the Promus mix position as an exhibition stand in its own right, from where Chris performed front of house duties for Manna. The band’s set showed the Sennheiser system’s sound quality off to good effect, from its extremely low self noise and sensitivity during quieter acoustic material, as much as its ample headroom for the more powerful dynamic numbers in the set.

Chris is in no doubt that Promus will be using Sennheiser kit for their forthcoming engagements; ”We’ve had a great deal of experience using a full range of Sennheiser equipment, including headphone bars for multi-listening stations at silent events, radio mics on Capital Radio Live and for countless music industry exhibitions. It’s well respected and in such general use that our clients can be confident that they’re getting a full professional service… and when it comes down to it, that’s what we’re here to provide.”
