Sennheiser at EXPO 2010 in Shanghai Experience the perfection of sound in the German Pavilion, ´balancity´

Under the motto 'Better City, Better Life', this year’s World Expo in Shanghai takes as its theme the urban challenges of the 21st century. The German Pavilion, organised under the auspices of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, presents the modern urban outlook on lifestyle pleasures and quality of life. On their way through the aptly-named ‘balancity’, Expo visitors are given an insight into urban life in Germany, including various “made in Germany” product highlights, such as the Sennheiser HD 800.

“We are delighted to be able to present our top-of-the-range headphones, the HD 800 and the IE 8, in the German Pavilion. Through our presence at Expo 2010 we hope to promote the technical skill and quality of Lower Saxony here in China”, says Volker Bartels, President of Manufacturing and Logistics and spokesman for the Sennheiser Executive Team.

Expo visitors are introduced to the HD 800. These audiophile headphones have developed a strong following thanks to their brilliant sound and impressive spatial quality. The dynamic stereo headphones with their open design combine innovative technology with select materials and high-quality workmanship. The main feature of the dynamic stereo headphones is a 56 mm transducer, currently the largest in any dynamic headphones.

The high quality IE 8 earpieces are also on display in the ‘balancity’. They are the perfect solution for music fans looking for clear and detailed reproduction. Excellent noise insulation and an adjustable bass complete the outstanding sound quality.

Workshop for Sound Experts
In addition to its presence in the German Pavilion, the Sennheiser Sound Academy also ran practical seminars in Live Mixing at the MAO Livehouse from 24th to 28th January. Over a 5-day period, around 200 sound engineers and sound designers worked on topics related to miking and mixing for live bands. “All aspects of a live concert were brought to life by Sennheiser experts to give workshop participants practical experience,” explained Susanne Seidel, President of Global Marketing. “At the Sennheiser Sound Academy we offer customised training and expert knowledge at an international level and give our customers the opportunity to increase their product and service know-how.”
