Michael Polten (55), former head of the Music Industry Team, will fully take over Product Management at audio specialist Sennheiser effective April 1, 2006. "We are pleased that we could acquire Mr. Polten for this position, a renowned person who knows the audio industry inside and out," says Susanne Seidel, Vice-President of Marketing. "He has a long history of experience in the music business as an active musician, producer, and sound engineer and in the sales and marketing sector. He is the ideal person for heading Product Management thanks to his major international experience, also in other product fields."

Polten has been with Sennheiser since May 1990 where he initially supported the musician market. He later transferred to Market Management where he was responsible for Sennheiser´s Central European market. As Product Manager, he was substantially involved in developing the evolution und evolution wireless microphone lines which ushered in Sennheiser´s brilliant reentry into the music business.

As one of the world´s leading manufacturers of microphones, headphones and wireless transmission systems, the Sennheiser Group with its headquarters in Wedemark near Hanover, Germany, had total sales of about €300 million in 2005. The export share is 83%. Sennheiser has a total workforce of more than 1,650 employees, of whom about 60% are employed in Germany.
