Sennheiser conducts professional
Live Mixing Workshop in Mumbai
15.02.2007 Mumbai

Sennheiser electronic, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of microphones, headphones and wireless transmission systems, which has announced its official entry into the Indian market, will conduct a two-day product road show in Mumbai at the Renaissance Hotel & Convention Centre, Powai on 17th and 18th February. For the second day of the event, Sennheiser Electronics India has invited professional sound engineers and audio students to a Live Audio Mixing Workshop, conducted by Sennheiser electronic’s Grammy-winning engineer Mr. Gregor Zielinsky.

At their desks: sound engineers Wayne "Heights" Gittens (front, monitor sound) and Oliver Voges (FOH mix)

The Mumbai product roadshow will introduce audio enthusiasts and sound professionals to a wide range of Sennheiser products, from consumer headphones and headsets to classic microphones, aviation headsets and professional RF wireless microphone systems. The event also takes the visitors through more than sixty years of Sennheiser history and highlights the awards that Sennheiser has won for its cutting-edge products.

The Live Mixing Workshop on 18th February will welcome sound engineers, dealers, musicians, sound engineering students and audio professionals to a day of hands-on experience with Sennheiser and Neumann microphones. The first part of the workshop includes lectures on Live Sound and Monitor Sound by highly acclaimed sound engineers Oliver Voges (Echo Awards, The Dome, Naturally 7, Scooter,
Mousse T.) and Wayne “Heights” Gittens (Herbert Grönemeyer,
Xavier Naidoo, Echo Awards, Comet).

The second part of the workshop at Powai will witness the live mixing of one of India’s best rock bands, “motherjane” from Kochi. The workshop participants will get tips and tricks on miking, while experimenting with different microphone choices and positions. A fully-fledged soundcheck both for the front-of-house PA and the monitor mix for the artists will provide ample practical experience for the participants who will then be rewarded by a live show of motherjane.

Gregor Zielinsky, Grammy-winning sound engineer from Sennheiser electronic, Germany and inventor of the Live Mixing Event, said, “This is Sennheiser’s seventh Live Mixing Event, a workshop that has proved extremely successful all over the globe. For sound engineering students, it is a welcome opportunity to gain more experience in the live sector, while professional engineers finally can take the time to test several Sennheiser and Neumann models on the various instruments and voices. For dealers, it is an ideal tool to get to know what their customers need and make contacts in the industry.“
