Diego was born in Valledupar and at a young age he went to live with his family in Villanueva, La Guajira. His father, Glomar Alberto Daza Romero, was a chorus boy for vallenato groups of the time, inherited a taste for music, he is also family of the 'Chiche' and the 'Pangue' Maestre. This young singer-songwriter handles variety in his songs, "I have not pigeonholed myself into a specific rhythm, I have been versatile, I handle very romantic songs, humorous songs, everyday songs, spiteful songs, etc." Diego Daza was nominated for a Latin Grammy twice, once in 2019 and once in 2021.
