Environmental aspects of our operations and value chain include greenhouse gas accounting, energy use, and employee mobility. Understanding these aspects helps improve transparency regarding our activities and supports informed decision-making.

Greenhouse Gas Accounting

Greenhouse gas accounting helps us better understand emissions associated with our operations and value chain. To improve transparency, emissions are assessed in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol).

The GHG Protocol categorizes emissions into Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3. This framework helps organizations understand different emission sources across their activities and value chain.

Scope 1

Scope 1 covers direct emissions from sources that are owned or controlled by a company. These may include emissions associated with fuel consumption, refrigerants, and company-owned vehicles.

Scope 2 includes indirect emissions associated with purchased electricity, heating, cooling, or steam consumed by a company.

Lastly, scope 3 concerns all indirect emissions that occur along the value chain, including, for example, emissions caused by the production and transport of purchased goods, as well as the disposal of waste or business travel.

Energy Use

We already use modern technologies to save energy. This includes thermal recovery systems in production buildings, ice-storage technology at the Innovation Campus at our Headquarters, and photovoltaic installations on its roof.

Employee Mobility and Business Travel

Employee mobility and business travel are additional environmental aspects associated with our operations. To support a range of mobility options, Sennheiser provides travel guidelines and mobility programs, including public transportation and bicycle leasing initiatives at selected locations.
