The challenge

Implement a seamless hybrid learning solution within a tight three-month timeline, including ideation, equipment shipping and installation.

The solution

The final choice fell on TeamConnect Ceiling 2, alongside LG screens, Q-SYS processors, PTZ cameras and Martin Audio ceiling speakers that work harmoniously together. Thanks to these cutting-edge technologies, the path to the hybrid learning experience was paved. In an alliance with Arizona State University (ASU) and 20 other universities worldwide, this collaboration has brought an innovative approach to education and knowledge sharing with approximately 150 students participating virtually and 40 students physically, offering a glimpse of the future of global education.

A crucial role in the decision-making process was Mapúa University’s with Sennheiser, utilizing approximately 6 channels of EW G4 100 with 835 capsules and 2 channels of XSW 1 from Sennheiser's professional audio portfolio. Besides comfort and confidence with the brand, Mapúa University’s choice was reinforced by Sennheiser’s cutting-edge features. The automatic dynamic beamforming technology to ensure voices can be heard anywhere in the room, and the TruVoicelift algorithm to significantly increase speech amplification on site were particularly decisive factors in the collaboration with Sennheiser.

Definitive Audio Video Solutions Inc, the integrator for this project, played a crucial role in facilitating the partnership. Mapúa's department heads, including the head of facilities, alliances, and purchasing, worked closely with the integrator to bring the project to life. The collaboration was smooth, with the help of local support and the quick resolution of any product-related issues.

The Tech Behind the Transformation

The transformation at Mapúa University involved the installation of 8 units of Sennheiser's TCC 2 in three branches of the university - 2 units in Makati, 3 in Laguna, and 3 in Davao. These units found their home in the campus's ASU Global Classrooms, specially designed for hybrid lessons and global signature courses. The purpose of these rooms is to provide an immersive and interactive learning experience, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among students from across the globe.
