Why Cloud-Based Management Has Become the Standard
Cloud-based AV device management isn't the right fit for every organisation or workflow — different environments have different needs, and flexibility matters. That said, for teams managing distributed estates, cloud-enabled tools have become the standard way to achieve scale, consistency, and visibility.
The key benefits are well established. Centralised visibility brings devices across rooms, buildings, and regions into a single view, giving teams a clear picture of device status and system health. Real-time monitoring allows issues to be identified earlier — often before they affect users. As organisations grow, cloud platforms scale without the need for additional local infrastructure.
Better diagnostics also mean fewer unnecessary site visits, with on-site work reserved for cases where it's genuinely needed. Role-based permissions ensure the right people have the right level of control. And because cloud platforms are updated continuously, new capabilities can be introduced as customer needs evolve.
In short, cloud-based management doesn't replace every local workflow — but it has become a foundational layer for managing AV environments at scale.
Why Hybrid Approaches Still Matter
Despite the advantages of cloud management, many organisations continue to rely on complementary workflows. Some environments require offline or air-gapped setup, where devices must be accessed locally before connecting to a wider network. Others have strict security or compliance requirements that demand on-premises control. Many need AV data to feed into existing dashboards or broader IT systems.
Supporting these scenarios alongside cloud management is essential — and flexibility is a key part of how modern AV ecosystems are designed.
Local Web UI (LUI): A Practical Part of the Workflow
Browser-based local interfaces are a standard expectation for professional AV devices, and the Local Web UI (LUI) plays that role within Sennheiser's portfolio.
LUI provides access to all device settings via a local network connection, with no additional software or internet connection required. It supports practical, on-site workflows — particularly during installation and initial setup — and is used to enrol devices into the cloud. Once enrolled, devices can be configured and managed through
DeviceHub as required. Full configuration doesn't need to happen locally.
LUI is included as standard on new Sennheiser devices, with select existing products gaining access via firmware updates delivered through Sennheiser Control Cockpit — Sennheiser's central management software for IT and AV professionals. This ensures a consistent experience across the portfolio while supporting both local and cloud-based workflows.
What Customers Told Us — and How We Responded
Throughout development, we worked closely with AV/IT managers and integrators across different industries. While environments varied, the core needs were remarkably consistent: clear visibility across rooms and regions, remote access that reduces friction, role-based permissions that reflect real organisational structures, and strong security and governance — all without added complexity.
That feedback reinforced a simple principle: device management tools should simplify operations, not add to them.
DeviceHub: Now in Public Beta
Sennheiser
DeviceHub is now publicly available as an initial public beta for
TeamConnect Bar customers, with compatibility expanding throughout 2026 as additional devices are added.
The platform provides:
- Remote monitoring and diagnostics for improved visibility across sites
- Location-based organisation that reflects real-world environments
- Role-based access control aligned with IT governance
- A scalable foundation designed to grow over time
What This Means for AV and IT Managers, and Integrators
For organisations managing distributed AV estates,
DeviceHub offers clearer oversight and more predictable workflows.
AV and IT managers gain greater visibility across sites, reduced support overhead, stronger governance, and more consistent day-to-day operations. Integrators benefit from more efficient customer support, fewer unnecessary site visits, streamlined deployment workflows, and new opportunities to deliver ongoing value.
Across all roles, the outcome is the same: better control with less complexity — and more reliable experiences for end users.
Looking Ahead
Workplaces will continue to evolve, and AV environments will continue to scale. Cloud-based device management is now a standard part of meeting those demands, and Sennheiser is committed to delivering solutions that are flexible, secure, and built for long-term use.
DeviceHub is available now for
TeamConnect Bar customers, with broader device compatibility and new features rolling out through 2026 and beyond.
