The solution
Kyoiku Sangyo Co., Ltd. (KSG), a respected name with over 80 years of expertise in audiovisual systems and ICT, operates “KSG Lab”, a suite of showroom-style conference rooms designed for clients to experience cutting-edge systems first-hand. However, the previous conference environment faced critical challenges. Wireless microphones required tedious preparation and passing them between speakers disrupted the natural flow of meetings. Remote conferences were marred by unclear audio, while participants with hearing difficulties often struggled to follow the conversation, leading to repeated clarifications and diminished meeting efficiency.
In pursuit of a seamless, hands-free solution, KSG turned to Sennheiser. In October 2023, the company upgraded two flagship conference rooms, Room dB, equipped with an ultra-large LED display, and Room Hz, a versatile mid-sized hall, by installing Sennheiser’s TeamConnect Ceiling Medium (TCC M) and TeamConnect Ceiling 2 (TCC 2) systems. Leveraging dynamic beamforming technology, the ceiling microphones automatically detect and capture the active speaker without the need for handheld mics. The integrated TruVoicelift function optimizes speech levels for every voice, ensuring consistent and crystal-clear audio both in-room and remotely. Additionally, the solution allows for effortless connectivity between conference spaces with the touch of a button, meeting the growing demand for streamlined, no-preparation conferencing.
The impact has been transformative. Users now enjoy an audio experience so precise that it seems the microphone is placed right at the speaker’s mouth. The elimination of manual microphone handling has enhanced the natural flow of discussions, while improved audibility has fostered a more inclusive environment for participants with hearing challenges. With most demo clients choosing to adopt the system, KSG is already considering extending Sennheiser’s ceiling microphone technology to additional meeting spaces. Looking forward, Mr. Naoe from the System Sales Engineering Department envisions meeting rooms that automatically connect with remote sites as soon as one enters, while Mr. Koide from the Information Systems Department highlights how this setup has significantly reduced meeting-related stress by delivering superior, hands-free audio communication.
Through this strategic deployment of Sennheiser’s advanced ceiling microphone solutions, KSG has not only resolved longstanding conferencing challenges but also set a new benchmark for efficient, high-quality communication in modern meeting environments.
