Welcome to the new home of Dear Reality within the Sennheiser Group

Since Dear Reality started more than 10 years ago and joined the Sennheiser Group in 2019, Immersive Audio has become an essential part of the professional audio industry.

To better leverage future potentials, we are currently consolidating all Immersive Audio initiatives within the Sennheiser Group.

As part of this process, Dear Reality will no longer continue as an independent company.

What does this mean for you? Dear Reality products will no longer be developed or maintained. To continue using your purchased plugins without any restrictions, a new installer must be downloaded as the current license manager will be deactivated on July 31, 2025.

We make most Dear Reality plugins available free of charge here. They can be downloaded and used without restriction upon registration for the Sennheiser AMBEO newsletter below.

Do you need support? During the transition period between March 25, 2025 to July 31, 2025, support will be available at our Help Center: https://help.sennheiser.com/hc/en-us and support@dear-reality.com to assist you with any questions or concerns.

FAQs

I have dearVR MIX-SE – what happens now?

Answer:

As all Dear Reality plugins, dearVR MIX-SE will no longer be developed or maintained. However, you can download the plugin for free here.
Alternatively, you can install dearVR MIX and benefit from its extended spatial headphone compensation list which includes 55 headphones.

What happens with my dearVR MONITOR plugin?

Answer:

You should have already received an email from Dear Reality with the latest installer.
In case you haven’t received the email, please check your SPAM folder or reach out to our support.

Where do I find the free Dear Reality plugins?

Answer:

After filling out the form on this site, you will get a confirmation mail. After clicking the confirmation button in that one you will get another mail with the installers of Dear Reality's free plugins.
If you have a Sennheiser account, the plugins will not be added to it.

Where is the installer for dearVR UNITY?

Answer:

dearVR UNITY only contains an integration package.
Enclosed to the integration package please find the manual to dearVR UNITY which explains the integration of the package.

Where do I find the installer for dearVR PRO and dearVR MUSIC?

Answer:

dearVR PRO and dearVR MUSIC were distributed by Plugin Alliance.
If you own a perpetual license of dearVR MUSIC or dearVR PRO you can still manage it in your Plugin Alliance account or should have received the legacy installer from Plugin Alliance.
Dear Reality cannot manage any Plugin Alliance licenses.

I downloaded the installers but cannot find the products. How can I open them?

Answer:

Please note that the Dear Reality plugins are not standalone software.
To get access to the plugins you need to work with a DAW of your choice.

Why can I only click the stereo setup of dearVR PRO2 and dearVR MONITOR?

Answer:

To get access to the multichannel formats of these plugins, please use a DAW which supports multichannel formats.
If you use a multichannel DAW, please check your IO setup and/or your channel setup. Be sure to open up a surround channel to get access to the multichannel setups of the plugins.
